Troubleshooting Hopper Air Leaks
• Ensure all latch hooks are seated correctly, and latch clamps fully closed, there should be seven in total.
• Open lid, realign gasket, and try again. Most hopper leaks come from small mispositioning of the gasket or lid. be careful to place lid down on gasket and not drag it across which could pull it out of position. Try moving the lid back forth slightly after closing to align gasket and lid. Clamp latches 2 at a time on opposite sides of the lid to balance the forces on the lid
• Inspect latches for signs of wear or damage, improper use could cause the hook opening to be enlarged. Damaged latches should be replaced immediately.
• No air path around the dough to the bottom of the hopper. The dough acts as the seal at the bottom of the hopper, if there is not enough dough to cover the bottom, this can create a leak path.
• Hopper gasket in place, in good condition, does not have excess oil which could cause the gasket to slip out of position
• If first latches are very tight, but later latches suddenly give, this could indicate that latches are too tight or positioned incorrectly, causing the gasket to fall out of position. If previously set latches are now loose is a sign that the gasket moved.
• Check air lines for tight connection and for signs of any damage.
• Check pressure relief valve on top, it may need to be cleaned or pressure may be too high, in the hopper
• If that doesn’t help, A small piece of paper can be used to help find the location of a leak if it cannot be found by sound or feel. Finding the leak will help determining the best fix.
• If the location of the leak cannot be found, but alarm messages persist, check system settings. The standard setting for Hopper Fill is 11 PSI. The pressure reading on the display should be around 12 PSI. Not Pressurized faults will occur if the displayed pressure is less than the Hopper Fill setting.
