Using Manual Controls
Before accessing the manual controls, please ensure that the system is fully guarded, the emergency stop (“E-Stop”) has been released, the compressor pressure is over 60 PSI, and any faults have been reset. Press the “3” button on the front of the control unit to access the I/O screen and check that DI3, DI4, DI5 are all fully white, this indicates that system is safe and the manual controls should be enabled.
Step 1: Accessing the Manual Controls
- Press the “2” button on the display. This will take you to the password entry screen.
- Press the enter key to begin typing your password using the input buttons.
- Once you’ve entered your password, press enter again to submit it.
- Press “2” again to navigate to the manual control screens.
Step 2: Navigating the Manual Control Screens
The manual control screens allow you to interact with specific components of the system. Use the “soft touch” buttons to navigate between the pages and locate the manual control you need.
Step 3: Initiating Manual Commands
To start a manual command, press and hold the button next to the corresponding control on the screen. While pressing the button, observe if the buttons change state from OFF (Ext Knife) to ON (Knife Ext FB). This indicates that the relevant part is moving as expected.
Step 4: Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
If you encounter any issues during the manual control process, follow these troubleshooting steps:
- If movement of the part is occurring:
- Check the alignment the cylinder proximity switch.
- If the movement of a part is not occurring:
- Check if the block and knife move freely by hand.
- Ensure that all guarding is in place to maintain safety.
- Check that the system’s pressure is sufficient, with the compressor pressure reading over 60 PSI.
- Verify that the plug-in terminals are securely fastened and not loose.
- Test the valve bank manual bypass.
